Help! my hair is red!?

Ok I have dark... or, I had dark brown hair, and I made the mistake of trying to dye it a lighter brown color. Now it is RED AND orangish and UGLY. What can I do to fix it? Should I just go back to the dark brown colors?

okay buy a wash out dye or just leave it as it is %26amp; then get yur hair dyed at a hair dressers

Its the type of lighter brown you tried to use. When you lighten dark brown hair, it has a lot of red undertones to it. Call your local beauty school. They can help you fix it for a lot less than a salon wouold charge you for a corrective color. Dark brown would probably just fade out to the reddish orange color eventually.

there are a few things you can do...how light is it now? if you'd say it's about a medium or light orangish brown than the easiest would be to go pick up a medium ash brown. make sure it says ash or cool not warm or golden...the ash tones will counteract the orange tones. if right now it's like a dark orangish brown than you'll want to do the same thing just get a cool dark brown dye. if it's still orange or red after you've dyed it again, you can go to a beauty supply store and get a purple shampoo, or they even have little purple capsules that you can put in your shampoo....shampoo your hair with that and leave it on for 5 minutes or so. if it's still not right, then you go get it professionally fixed....i'm always way happier with what i do myself than with what colorists do to my hair.. remember it's just hair, no small children will die over it:)..good luck!!
