Black hair to red?

I have natural black/dark brown hair and I wanted to dye it red. What would be the best product to use?

that is really hard to say. i would go to a salon.

i have naturally dark hair, i've dyed my hair every color in the book...I would not recommend making a change like that at home, it's not easy going from dark to red. I once bought a box of blond dye, subsequently turning my hair a horrendous orange, but once it's orange it's easy to go red from there. However the home box bleach job destroyed my hair, i would suggest you go to a salon if you want a good rich color, and maintainability.
