Not sure if you have a store like I do near you but I go to Sally's Beauty supply www.sallybeauty.com My favorite for the cost and quality is called Beyond the Zone Urban Trendz. I didn't see it on the website but that is what I found works the best. I used to use the brand Manic Panic, but especially for red it runs even when it rains and your whole body will be streaked with hair dye. A good, but a little more pricey, is called Raw Color hot rod red. It is around$13 for 4 oz. and if you have longer hair you might have to buy two or three bottles, but it works really well. With dying your hair a fun color you will probably have to lighten your hair unless you are already blonde and beware always read the package because some bleaching kits will melt your hair off if you have dyed your hair within the last few months but they are always marked "do not use on color treated or permed hair". It is sometimes in small print but it is there. I like to use L'ore'al paris Frost and Design. Inexpensive and there is a lot in the package and I dye my hair constantly and never had a problem with it. As with any bleaching though you don't want to bleach to often though. Go to a salon and they actually have about every hair color imaginable. Trust me, you don't want to dye it yourself. One of my friends tried to dye their hair "blood red" too and it turned out orange. It was ugly as hell!

Hot Topic used to have one called "Blood Red", but it wasn't permament though, it used to last me about 3 weeks, then it would start to wash off. I haven't been to Hot Topic in 3 years though, I don't know if they still have it.
