My hair is dark brown. Is it possible to dye it a bright red (think Run Lola Run or Fifth Element) for just a short time?

to get it like really bright red you'd have to pre-lighten the section and that is not temporary. so you could use a temporary color that will wash out in a few weeks. but it won't be very bright. good luck

it wouldnt be bright. but it would be redish. theres products out there...check at cvs. but yea it would deffinetly have a tint to it.... its not gonna be like shocking bright red tho. u would need to bleach it and thats permanent. it will look like..dark cherry color. which is still cool.

you would have to bleach ur hair first then put the red over it... it will do a little damage.. but yes its possible. Then when u wanted to dye it back to a normal color it would have to be a dark brown.

I'm thinking that you can use what punks use and put things in your hair that aren't meant for hair that wash out unlike dye. Also, there must be some spray stuff that you see people use on halloween that isn't so exotic and more natural. Probably won't be able to style it very well though.

of course!!! all you have to do is get a rinse. it's a dye that will wash out after you wash your hair a certain ammount of times. I've tried it, it's great. It comes in every color and it's available in almost every store.

Or you could just use those weird spray-on colors, they are bright and last for a day or so.

Well if you want you can dye your hair orange and then go back to your natural color by dyeing it back.

Okay I have naturally dark borwn hair and there's a few ways I've gone from my natural color to the lovely orange shade.

1. Use Super Sun in (follow the directions) shampoo, rinse and then use Hi Octane Orange by Special Effects....but this will only give you a bright "natural" orange.

HERE's the REAL DEAL and you need to go to the beauty supply store for this.

2. Use Clairol Professional BW2 (Basic White) hair lightening powder along with 30 volume creme developer. Be sure to deep condtion 24 hours before you do this and follow the directions on the back of the bleach powder packet(s). Process, rinse thoroughly gently towel dry and apply Special Effects Hi Octane Orang or Napalm Orange. process per instructions on bottle rinse dry style.

and to dye your hair back to it's natural color,

I would suggest you look at the hair colors at the beauty supply store and ask for assistance in what you can use...unless you wind up keeping the orange hair.

PS. If this seems much there are haircolor sprays...just be sure to wash them out before you go to bed and don't get your hair wet.

go to sallys beauty supply look where the haircolor is and they have loreal products there is a array of colors from bright copper to red to pink made just for dark hair and it shows! i dyed my hair black and then put streaks of the red and the copper in my hair and covered the majority of my head and i looked like a 57 chevy .LOL..but its a semi permanant so it washes out and you will slowly but surely get your original color back.it works and its like 4 dollars and you follw the mixing directions ..THIS WORKS on dark hair no prelightining
