I dyed my hair deep red and it looks ok,but when I go into the sun or light it is TOO red..how do I lessen the red? I want it more natural

red is the second fast color to fade. dont stress to much but i would try the whole lemon juice thing bc that may ruin the red. my suggest is to go get a malibu treament their really cheap and it cleans everything out of ur hair and lightens ur hair. i had let a friend do my hair and she turn my pretty blonde hair into blonde hair with reddish violent highlights and i went and got a malibu and it made such a difference.

try washing it a few times in henna shampoo (Alberto V05 makes some and it's pretty cheap, too), it'll add a bit more brown to it.

Haha, I did the EXACT same thing!! I just dyed it one shade darker than my natural hair color, and then I just laid in the sun to get natural highlights. It brought my hair back to normal, maybe it'll do the same for you.

Red\ dye tends to lose the colour after a while through a few washes . my hair was bright yet it lostcolour after a few washes. aurburn worse to get out or make it lighter you just have to keep washing it.

just add a color with an ash in it... it has a green base which will work against the red and tone it down.
