Dyed brownish/reddish hair to red?

I currently have my hair dyed a medium to darkish hue of brownish reddish colour ... you can see the redness in the sun but otherwise not really... i was actually considering dying it red...not like vibrant crazy red...but a nice natural red ... do i have to get my hair stripped for this ?? or since i already have some red pigment from the dyed hair colour in my hair right now, that i could ask my stylist to just dye it red ?? let me know what you guys suggest thanx

If you want to maintain the same level of darkness there is no reason to strip your color. Only if you would like to go lighter do you need to pre-lighten.

You can just dye it red. You only need to strip your hair if it is very dark and you would like to go to a very light colour such as light brown or blonde. If you have recently coloured your hair, maybe give it some time to fade as this will make it easier to dye. Your stylist should know what to do.
